GodSpeak – Matthew 25 – November 18-23

Disciple (n./v.): The Gospel of Matthew
Matthew 25:1-46

Jesus will come back some day. It’s our job to be ready for him when he gets here. Be prepared for the long-haul. Be shrewd and seek an increase in the Kingdom and His righteousness. Serve others while thinking nothing of yourself. You do it for Jesus.

Monday, November 18
Read Matthew 25:1-30. We are like the ten virgins were waiting for the bridegroom. What is the difference between the wise and foolish virgins? We are like the servants given talents of money. What have we been given, and how are we to use it?

Tuesday, November 19
Read Matthew 25:31-46. What moment in time does this scene depict? What is the fundamental difference between those who are considered sheep versus those considered goats?

Wednesday, November 20
After reviewing Matthew 25, read Revelation 21. The new earth is described like a wedding party between the bridegroom, Christ and His bride, the new Jerusalem (the believers). Compare the beauty of that new earth with the one we live in now. Worth waiting for?

Thursday, November 21
After reviewing Matthew 25, read 2 Peter 3. Peter encourages the people to keep watching for Jesus even though others have stopped. What does keeping watch look like on a daily basis?

Friday, November 22
After reviewing Matthew 25, read Luke 16:1-13. Jesus says we either serve God or mammon (power, prestige and possessions). How can we be more shrewd in serving God in the midst of a world serving mammon?

Saturday, November 23
After reviewing Matthew 25, read Isaiah 58. You may want to read this one twice. Why didn’t God acknowledge the people’s fasting? What happens to us when we only look like we follow Jesus?
