GodSpeak – Philippians 4:10-23 – July 14-19

Reading Paul, Hearing Jesus (GEPC)
Philippians 4:10-23

Paul finishes his letter to the Philippian church by thanking them for their generosity. God used them to bless Paul and his ministry many times. God provides while we live content with his provision.

Monday, July 14
Read Philippians 4:10-23. Paul has learned the secret to being content. What is that secret? What kinds of situations breed discontent in you? How can you apply the secret of contentment better in your life?

Tuesday, July 15
After reviewing Philippians 4:10-23, read Luke 18:18-30. It’s obvious the rich young ruler was not content with his life, even though he had great wealth. Why was Jesus’ advice so difficult for him? What if Jesus said that to you? Is he?

Wednesday, July 16
After reviewing Philippians 4:10-23, read John 15:1-17. Paul is content with the strength of Christ. How does the branch receive nourishment? What happens if the branch is cut off? How do we abide in Christ? How does love produce contentment?

Thursday, July 17
After reviewing Philippians 4:10-23, read 3 John. Why is John writing to Gaius? What was the problem with Diotrephes? What parallels do you see with the modern church?

Friday, July 18
After reviewing Philippians 4:10-23, read Malachi 3. When will the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasing to the Lord? What does that refining process look like? How does this help us to properly understand v.10? Do you trust God enough to “test” him?

Saturday, July 19
After reviewing Philippians 4:10-23, read Ephesians 2. Paul ends Philippians by blessing them with the words, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.” Why “grace?” Why is the grace of Jesus so important for your spirit?
