Scenes from Revelation – A New Heaven and a New Earth

A day will come soon when everything that exists will be purified back to the way God intended. Jesus ensured that through his death and resurrection. Here’s a preview. Daily Prayer: Come, Lord Jesus! Amen.

Monday, May 9
Read Revelation 21:1-8. We have a picture of restoration. What is being restored? What is being removed? What do you imagine it will be like to live with God this way?

Tuesday, May 10
Read Revelation 21:9-22:5. The New Jerusalem is the church. How is it described? Why no temple? What is the symbolism of the water of life?

Wednesday, May 11
Read Genesis 1-2. God created a perfect world of interdependency. What must it have been like before sin entered the world? How is it similar to what we read in Rev. 21-22?

Thursday, May 12
Read Isaiah 65. Isaiah was given a vision of a new heavens and a new earth. How would you describe it? How is it different than the way things are today? What do you look forward to there?

Friday, May 13
Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-58. How does Paul speak of the new life that is to come? What kind of hope does it give for us? How might this give us courage to live for Jesus right now?

Saturday, May 14
Read Revelation 22:6-21. Jesus speaks up at the end of the book. What phrase does he keep repeating? Why is it important for us to keep this fact in mind all the time?
