Daily Devotional/Group Discussion Questions
Worry seems to be part of our nature and culture. We do many things to seek out peace. In the midst of worry and anxiety, this week, see Christ and how He truly is “Prince of Peace”.   Daily Prayer: Find and pray through the hymn “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” (LSB 357), & each night before you sleep, pray Psalm 4:8.

Monday, Dec 5
Read Mark 4:35-41. We are called to faith, not fear. How does Jesus teach His disciples this important truth? How is He teaching you this truth today?

Tuesday, Dec 6
Read Isaiah 11:1-10. There’s a lot of goofy imagery in this passage! How do these images reflect perfect peace?

Wednesday, Dec 7
Read Philippians 4:4-7. There are many ways that we try to escape anxiety, but these ways are typically false peace. What’s the one way that we can have true peace? Consider making a “to think” list each day, instead of a “to do” list. List promises of peace from God for you and pray about them.

Thursday, Dec 8
Read Romans 15:4-13. Last week we talked about “hope.” How does hope produce peace?

Friday, Dec 9
Read Isaiah 9:6-7 & John 14:27. There is a difference between having peace and feeling it. What does Isaiah say about the peace that Jesus would bring? What does this mean for you?

Saturday, Dec 10
Read Isaiah 26:3 & John 16:33. Write down your current worries and look for God’s promises in response to each concern. How can you experience peace this advent season and forever?
