Daily Devotional/Group Discussion Questions

For a few weeks we will be looking at miracles throughout the Bible. This week, we will be answering the question “what is a miracle?” through scripture itself. Be refreshed in the workings of our Lord!

 Micacle: \’mir-i-kəl\ (n.) an historical event or phenomenon which surpasses human or natural power and which cannot  be explained by natural or scientific laws, and is therefore considered a display of divine power caused by God

 Daily prayer: Almighty God, reveal to us your wonderful works not only in scripture, but in my daily walk with you. Amen. Also pray through Psalm 136:4-9.

Read Matthew 11:2-5 and Isaiah 61:1-3. How does Jesus’ miracles reveal Him as a savior? Why is it important that this was prophesied?

Tue. Aug. 15
Read John 2:1-11How does a miracle reveal Jesus’ glory? What did he reveal with this miracle?

Wed. Aug. 16
Read Matthew 12:28-42 and Luke 11:29-32. Summarize these passages in your own words. How did Jesus reveal the kingdom of God through His miracles?

Thurs. Aug. 17
Read Colossians 1:15-20 & Psalm 77:3-15. What do these passages reveal about Christ’s purpose behind performing miracles?

Fri. Aug. 18
Read Mark 4:35-41 & Luke 11:18-23. What do these passages reveal about Christ? Why is this important? Hint: Who is Jesus Lord over?

Sat. Aug. 19
Read Mathew 8:14-17.  How do His miracles show us Christ’s ability to take up our infirmities? Why does this matter to you?
