Bethel is HIRING!
With thanks to Alaina for her years of service, Bethel is seeking a new Ministry Office Manager. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply via our ZipRecruiter post. A description of this role can be accessed here. Bethel members are welcome to share this opportunity with others. Thanks!

Volunteers of America’s Mission & Approach is to help people build hope, resilience, and well-being. One of the VOA’s services is facilities that provide support for people reentering society after incarceration. Two Re-Entry Centers (Roseville and Lake Street) in the cities provide housing and help for transitioning back into society.
From the VOA website: “Together, we can do more. Like us, you have a deep belief that all people have inherent dignity and strengths. You are committed to advancing a fairer, healthier, more compassionate, resilient, and inclusive community. And you recognize that we all need a helping hand sometimes. You know that every challenge springs from an upstream opportunity to do things differently. And you’re inspired to make an exponential community impact by ensuring that all people have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Let’s do more, together.”
This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18
Bethel has the privilege of serving the residents of Roseville and Lake Street by providing for the needs of those just coming out of prison and entering the facilities. We will pack welcome bags with items (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, water bottle, notebook, pen, lanyard, other) for each resident to receive when they arrive. It also would be great to add a New Testament!
How you can help:
- Contact a business to ask for 50-100 item donations (i.e. dentist, dollar tree)
- Purchase items for the welcome bags
- Donate monies to buy items
Thrivent Action Team monies of $250 will be used. The goal is to fill 50-100 welcome bags
on Sunday, October 8. Any questions? Contact Lynne Rustad at 651-492-1240

Sermon Series “Q with A: Your questions about Bible, faith & life answered with Andrew”
So, you’ve got QUESTIONS about the Bible, about your faith…the “faith” we share through the LCMS…and you’ve got questions about LIFE and how your faith is lived out. But, WHERE and WHEN do we have a chance to consider YOUR QUESTIONS? Introducing, “Q with A” – a new, periodic sermon series where you can submit your QUESTIONS and Andrew will ANSWER them by drawing us to the Bible’s wisdom and guidance.
August 27: “How do we know we have the one true faith?”
September 3: “Jesus said we’d do greater things. Why don’t we?”
September 10: “Why do we practice infant baptism?”
