December Bethel Workship Project

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Galatians 5:13-14
Volunteers of American Residential Re-Entry Centers (VOA-RRC) provide residential re-entry services for men and women who are allowed to complete part of their prison sentences in the community. This provides an opportunity to obtain employment and restore family and community relationships as they begin their transition to life out of prison.
COVID stopped volunteers coming into the facilities for over a year, but last June 2021 Faye and I were able to start up our Bible Study on Monday evenings. It has been a joy to return to spend time with the women telling them about the God who loves them. I also have resumed the knitting/crochet time on Wednesday afternoons with a friend, Hsarpaw.
Again this year, Bethel will be providing Christmas stockings filled with gifts to the men and women at the Roseville and the Minneapolis VOA-RRC. This is our opportunity to show them God’s amazing love! Various individuals and companies will be donating Christmas stockings, toothbrushes, socks and a Thrivent Action Team $250 for our efforts. Donations of money and ideas for other companies to donate are needed! Please contact Lynne Rustad at 651-492-1240 or at blessedrustads@aol.com.
Donations will be collected in November and on Sunday, December 12, we will write Christmas cards and fill the stockings!
Thanks in advance for showing your love to the people at the VOA-RRC!
Please pray for the residents as they come from prison to the VOA. Pray for them to know Jesus as their LORD and Savior!
