We not only belong to God, we also belong to each other. We are not travelling alone on this journey that God has given us, others are traveling with us. But unlike a race or a marathon, we are not competing with each other or maybe trying to get ahead of them and win something. We are traveling together on this journey, sharing its joys and bearing each other’s burdens. If someone stumbles we help them get up to their feet, if someone steps off course, we urge them back. On this journey we are all brothers and sisters in the same family. The family of God.
This family is the church. “The Church” is not just a particular building or congregation, but the spiritual fellowship of all who belong to Jesus Christ.
So, if we belong to Christ, we also belong to each other. If we have committed our lives to Him, we are also committed to each other. And the reason for this is simple, we need each other.
Hebrews 10:25, says, “Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day of Christ’s return.”
Blessing on your day.
