Here at Bethel we believe that God has given us all a WaterLife. The idea is simple: through your baptism, God has given you a new life in Him that is marked by grace and forgiveness. We are freed to serve God with our life and resources! Part of that WaterLife is to be involved in the work of Christ’s Kingdom here on earth. Over the last few years I’ve seen the disciples here at Bethel get involved in many new exciting ministries both inside and outside of Bethel. As the primary interviewer of our WaterLife guests, I get to hear the longer version of many of your testimonies. It is a thrill and a joy for me to hear just how God has worked and is working through the disciples here.
I would love for the whole congregation to be aware of the variety of ways God is moving through the disciples at Bethel. We need to share the stories of God’s movement!
“Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done,
and proclaim that his name is exalted.” -Isaiah 12:4
When we celebrate and share what God is doing, we…
Give Him Praise
Highlighting the ministry of Bethel does not bring glory to us, it brings glory to God! As Jesus’ disciples we walk humbly in His footsteps making disciples, baptizing and teaching them. God is transforming lives and we need to be sharing those stories!
Strengthen the Faith of Others
It is inspiring to me than to hear a story of God at work in another believer’s life. I love hearing from our WaterLife guests. Their stories are something we can all relate to as Jesus’ disciples. It strengthens our faith to hear about God’s moving in each other’s lives.
Inspire others to get involved (volunteer, pray and give)
It is easier to give of our time and resources when we can see just how it impacts others. By sharing and celebrating what God is doing in a particular ministry, we can invite others to consider getting involved.
These last few months, the leadership team has been working hard rethinking how we celebrate and share what God is doing through His people here. Over the next few months we’ll be rolling out some new methods of sharing such as showing slides before the service highlighting recent ministries. That’s just one of the many new plans we have to connect the disciples at Bethel with what God is doing here!
