German Dinner & Silent Auction

Enjoy a German Dinner on Saturday, October 4, 2008, 5:30 pm at Bethel Lutheran Church 670 West Wheelock Parkway including a pork chop, sauer kraut, German potato salad, caraway/rye bread, green beans, apple sauce and your choice of desert bars. Hot dogs & tater tots are available as an alternative for children by requesting the children’s plate. A silent auction with items donated by local businesses and individuals will also be a part of this evening fund raiser. Money raised will benefit Second Harvest Heartland, the Upper Midwest’s largest hunger-relief organization and will be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Second Harvest Heartland’s largest program is the food bank, which serves 59 counties in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. The food bank solicits warehouses and distributed 34.5 million pounds of food to 1020 non-profit member agencies and programs this past year, including food shelves, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior community centers and children’s after school programs. Eat In or Take Out! Dinner Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child (10 yrs old or younger). The Silent Auction bidding will end at 7 p.m. October 4th, 2008.
