In the midst of the Lord’s Prayer are these words, “Give us this day our daily bread” Matthew 6:11. Which reminds us that we depend on God for everything. Because He is the giver of every blessing.
James 1:17 says “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and came down from the Father of light.”
But, some people say, “Why should I pray for my daily bread? I can take good care of my needs.” Brothers and sisters in Christ, Listen: If it were not for God’s love and grace for us all, we would not have anything.
We need to pray this prayer everyday, because we need to be reminded to trust God in everything we do.
This prayer also reminds us of Jesus’ words “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry and He who believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35. But, Praise God for all His gifts, especially His Son Jesus Christ, the greatest gift of all.
