Why does Jesus tell his disciples that all authority in heaven had been given to him? Didn’t they know that already? Hadn’t they seen him die and rise again? Didn’t they just spend 40 days learning from the resurrected Jesus? Is this news to them or is Jesus authorizing his disciples to make disciples? if so, are we authorized too?
