C.S. Lewis is the well known author of many books including The Chronicles of Narnia and Mere Christianity. He is also famous for using logic and philosophy to support and encourage others in their faith. Lewis’ unique style and approach to explaining life on this earth and our relationship with God have earned him a spot with the most cherished Christian authors for many people today.
Monday, March 2
Read John 1:1-2, John 1:14. The coming of the Son of God into the flesh is called “the incarnation”. The Son of God literally came down and lived among us. This was a radical act for God to come in the flesh. Why was it necessary for Him to do this?

Read Colossians 3:1-17. C.S. Lewis once said, “If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next.” How does keeping our mind on things above help us to make an impact for Christ in this life?

Read Colossians 1:13-23. Lewis is quoted as saying, “If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.” How has God rescued us from this world and brought us into the kingdom of His Son?

Friday, March 6
Read 1 John 4:7-21. Lewis tells us that “The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.” How do we know that God loves us? How does this make us “good”?
Saturday, March 7
Read Ecclesiastes 7:20-22. Lewis once said, “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.” What does this passage say about forgiveness? Who do you need to forgive?
