UNDESERVED: God’s Gift of Grace
Salvation
While we enjoy God’s grace in simply living our lives, we are still sinful humans who willfully disobey him. He has every right to punish his rebellious creation, and he does… through his son, Jesus. Jesus took the wrath of God for us and gave us a most amazing gift: forgiveness, life and salvation.
Weekly Memory Verse: Ephesians 2:8-9
“8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith– and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. “
Monday, March 12 Read Luke 23 – Luke 24. In these chapters we see Jesus give himself as the greatest gift from God. Notice the ways he gives the gift… in his trial, crucifixion, resurrection and appearances.
Tuesday, March 13 Read Romans 3. God is righteous. We are not. In order for the righteous God to accept us unrighteous people, we need to have the righteousness of another given to us. Enter Jesus.
Wednesday, March 14 Read Isaiah 55. Last week we saw that God is gracious. How does God communicate his gracious salvation in this prophecy from Isaiah?
Thursday, March 15 Read Romans 5. Our sin cripples us. It truly handicaps our efforts to please God. There is no real peace in that life. According to Romans 5, how is true peace achieved?
Friday, March 16 Read Ephesians 2. We all have things we’ve done that we are ashamed of. These are the things we never want to speak of. We truly don’t deserve God’s love. He gives it anyway.
Saturday, March 17 Read 2 Timothy 1 Sometimes we forget the value of the gift we’ve been given. We take it for granted or even feel ashamed to speak of it. Never forget the alternative to the grace of God.
