The Seven NEXT Words
So Easter happened. We heard the 7 LAST words of Jesus on the cross. We experienced the excitement of Jesus’ followers at His resurrection. So now what? This week, revisit the 7 last words of Jesus, and see 7 next words for us as a Church.
Monday, April 2
Read Luke 23:33-34, 2 Corinthians 5:17, & Colossians 3:13. What did Jesus do for those who crucified Him? Why? Who are we, through this action? How can we reflect Christ and His life, even if those sinning against us don’t know it?
Tuesday, April 3
Read Luke 23:39-43, Acts 2:36-41, & Titus 3:5. Who does salvation belong to? What is significant about who Jesus promises salvation to on the cross? about who Peter promises it to in Acts? What does baptism have to do with it today?
Wednesday, April 4
Read John 19:26-27 & Galatians 4:5-7. What do these passages teach us about relationship?
Thursday, April 5
Read Mark 15:34, Romans 8:38-39 & 1 John 3. Because of the cross, we never have to worry about being separate from God’s love. What does that mean to you?
Friday, April 6
Read John 19:28 & 4:1-26. Who does Jesus identify Himself as? What does it look like to have Jesus quench our thirst? Think of a time you were distressed. What quenched your thirst? If it wasn’t Jesus, explore why not and pray for help in seeing Him as the Living Water.
Saturday, April 7
Read Luke 23:46, John 19:30, & Romans 8:26-39. Because of the cross, what is the victory? Whose is it?
