The Steadfast Love of the Lord
The Steadfast Love of the Lord
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning, new every morning, Great is Thy faithfulness, oh Lord,
Great is Thy faithfulness.
Monday, December 24 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases”
Read Lamentations 3:22-23. This song is a direct quote from this passage of scripture. As we approach a new year, read this passage again and reflect upon how God has been with you this year.
Tuesday, December 25 “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases”
Read Romans 8:31-39. Our love of things is often fickle. What kind of love does God have for us through Jesus? Think of all the things that get in the way of your love.
Wednesday, December 26 “His mercies never come to an end”
Read Psalm 25. David is appealing to God to show the mercy that he is known for. When have you cried to God for mercy? How did he deliver you? Was it the way you expected?
Thursday, December 27 “They are new every morning”
Read Psalm 143. After the darkness of night, it’s always reassuring to see the sun rise in the east. What is it about morning that makes things seem better? How is God’s grace shown brand new in the morning?
Friday, December 28 “Great is Thy faithfulness”
Read Psalm 89. The psalmist begins the psalm by listing the great faithfulness of God. By the end, he’s not too sure God’s faithful to him. Have you ever felt like God’s been faithful to everyone but you? How can you resolve your insecurities like the psalmist in v.52?
Saturday, December 29 “Great is Thy faithfulness”
Read Lamentations 3. Jeremiah writes this in the midst of great despair. Think of one area of your life where insecurities reign. Then read vs. 22-23 again. God is in control. Pray the Lord’s Prayer and give it to God.
