Daily Devotional/Group Discussion Questions
As you can read in the Old Testament, the Tabernacle was the dwelling place of God where He met His people. A person would walk through seven stations in the tabernacle. These next two weeks, we will be walking through them. Why? These same stations can help guide us in prayer today.
Daily Prayer: Father, we praise you for all that you are and all that you’ve done. Cleanse us of our sins, and use us to proclaim your glory and love. Amen.
Prayer Exercise 1: Write out your prayer plan for the week. Read Mark 1:35 if you need a refresher on how Jesus encouraged us to do this.
The Candlestick – Read Isa. 11:2 & 1 Cor. 12:8-10 The fire of the candlesticks represent the Holy Spirit. Remember to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit into your life every day.
The Table of Shewbread – Josh. 1:8. The twelve loaves of bread represent the importance of reading God’s word for our daily sustenance. Try creating a Biblical “meal plan” for your week and note any changes in your heart!
The Altar of Incense – Prov. 18:10. Incense was burned at the entrance of the Holy of Holies. It represents worship, where people entered the presence of God while worshipping his Names. Write down as many of His names as you can think of and praise God using each one.
The Ark of the Covenant – Read 1 Tim. 2:1-4: This is where God’s presence dwelt. The priest interceded on behalf of the people. Now we are called priests, and intercede for others. When writing out prayer plans, remember to factor in those for whom you are interceding: those in authority, your family, church, city, and your own needs.
