The Time Between the Testaments: Revolt and Freedom

Advent Midweek Worship 2
Wednesday, December 8, 2010

In between the Old Testament and the New Testament is a period of time of approximately 400 years.  A lot can happen in 400 years!  After Alexander the Great brought the Greek culture to the Jewish people, things were taken a bit too far.  That is, far enough for the Jewish people to revolt and win independence for nearly 100 years.  Ever hear of a Pharisee or a Sadducee?  Listen in and find out where they come from!
Readings: Nehemiah 9:1-3, 2 Maccabees 6:1-6
