A Coins for Missions Offering bucket is at Bethel Lutheran Church. Coin donations will be brought to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) South District Convention in June and will be given to our newest LCMS congregation – the Sudanese Evangelical Lutheran Mission Congregation of Southern Minnesota in Mankato. This offering will help to provide funding for the salary of the bi-vocational pastors of this new Sudanese congregation. Candidate James Ruey, their Pastor has completed his training at the Ethnic Immigrant Institute of Theology (EIIT) – just like our own Deacon Lusienie Fofana is doing – and has been certified for ordination. Currently, the congregation has an average weekly worship attendance of 48 and serves just under 100 souls. Coins will be collected at Bethel between now and June 7. Let’s help Pastor Seabaugh “make a joyful noise to the Lord” by bringing our full bucket to the convention.
