Disciples Sharing Stories – Acts 14

In the end of Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas return from their missionary journey and arrive back at their sending church in Antioch. Scripture tells us that “on arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.” In many Lutheran churches, about once a year, a missionary will return to the churches that support them and share stories of the work that God has been doing through them. What a joy these stories are to hear! God does amazing things through his disciples overseas.

So what about us? What about the disciples who are not called to go overseas? How do we share our stories of what God is doing through us? Well, WaterLife has been an opportunity for us to hear about the doors God has opened for the Gospel in the lives of the disciples gathered at Bethel, but it doesn’t end there. Share your story of how God has transformed your life through Christ with others at every opportunity. Witness to what you’ve seen God do. Bless us by sharing your story.

Dear Lord, we thank you for every opportunity to share with others the love we’ve found in you. We thank you for the disciples in our lives who did not keep silent, but shared their stories of you with us. Amen.
