Transformed

Lives Transformed
I’ve just seen it too many times to deny it.  Jesus gets into people’s lives and they are changed.  They change from the inside out.  They are different people.  The guilt is gone.  The shame is gone.  The burden is gone.  All replaced with faith, forgiveness and freedom.  I fear we sometimes forget the transformational power of the Gospel.  One spoken truth, “Jesus died for your sins” is enough to bring someone from eternal death to eternal life.  And let me tell you, life lived with the assurance of heaven is as good as it gets.

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2

Men Transformed
Something happens to a guy when he realizes that the Bible speaks of him as the spiritual head of the household.  It can be intimidating and scary and unfortunately, sometimes guys just ignore it!  God isn’t torturing you when he says that.  God made you be the spiritual head of your household!  We want to help you do that.  It starts by being in the word of God yourself.  But you’re not alone.  We want to build a men’s ministry around supporting godly men.  It starts by getting to know each other.  So, is the May 16-17th work retreat about building a deck?  You bet.  It’s also about building bonds between godly men.

8 I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer…” 1 Tim. 2:8

A Building Transformed
God has given us a place to meet and to hear His word and be in community with one another.  I guess we could do that anywhere, but God blessed us with a facility to do that.  That means we must take care of our building so that our church can continue to meet here.  We have a work day coming up on May 10 where we are looking forward to getting a lot of work accomplished in one day.   Let’s not stop there.  Let’s take a new, fresh look at our facility to make sure it truly is a place where all people can come and focus on God’s word without distractions.  Let’s treat this place as our home away from home.  Many thanks to all of you who work so hard to keep our facility a beautiful “house of God.”

Ministry Transformed
We live in a different world than in previous generations.  It used to be that “If you worship they will come.”  It’s still true to a certain extent.  Some will come and we welcome them.  Unfortunately, most will stay at home knowing full well that worship is happening all over the city.  They will not come unless they have a friend who is willing to connect them with the Word of God that day.  We used to have a Christian culture in America.  No longer.  Generations are growing up without any contact with the church or with the true God.  Many have never stepped foot in a church at all!  We as followers of Jesus must transform our ministry to reach out to a culture that knows nothing of Jesus, or of the forgiveness of sins.  Be a part of transformational ministry!

I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. 1 Cor. 9:22
